The Royal County of Berkshire contains some of the most beautiful countryside in England, ranging from the majestic Windsor Great Park in the Green Belt just a few miles from the border of Greater London, to the rolling hills and rich farmland of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape in the west of the county. And then there is the River Thames which snakes its way through the county, and we have some of the prettiest villages and most fascinating historic towns sitting beside the Thames and its tributaries. Whatever you are looking for, Berkshire is here to be explored! And for a hundred years CPRE Berkshire has been working hard to protect these precious landscapes and open spaces so that they are still here for future generations to enjoy and celebrate.
