YOUR COUNTY NEEDS YOU!

The Royal County of Berkshire is renowned for its beautiful countryside – its rolling acres of farmland, its winding rural lanes, its glorious ancient woodlands, its precious chalk streams.. But that countryside is now at risk – from urban sprawl and other inappropriate development, from the growing scourge of litter and fly-tipping, and from rapidly increasing pollution of our rivers, and a multitude of other threats to our natural environment.

That’s why the Berkshire county branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) is seeking to recruit more volunteers, to help us promote our cause of countryside protection and to highlight the many and growing threats to our green spaces and rural landscapes. We are dealing with many different issues throughout the Royal County and we need more helpers. So if you think you might be able to assist us by joining our team of volunteers, please get in touch.

We currently have the following volunteer vacancies:

Trustees – preferably with charity governance, business, planning, local government or finance experience.

Social Media Volunteer – to help us promote the Berkshire countryside and get our message across to new audiences.

Local ‘Eyes and Ears’ – to monitor your local council, press and social media to give CPRE Berkshire advance warning of new development threats to local countryside in your area.
